TechIsland is a joint initiative launched by eight coastal communities on Vancouver Island to encourage technology sector investment in the region. Working alongside a team of designers and brand strategists, the TechIsland brand was created to establish a sense of unity amongst the different communities in the area. The name TechIsland represents the initiative’s ultimate goal in a very tangible way, to transform Vancouver Island into a globally recognized tech hub. I also helped develop a social media strategy and website copy for the initiative, along with a range of organic content to increase website traffic and brand awareness.

There was one overarching goal in this project: to create a brand that reflects the friendly and approachable atmosphere of the Downtown Vancouver restaurant.
Working alongside a team of designers and brand strategists, I helped develop the name Honeybrew and tagline A modern spin on old family traditions. Both of these are now integral to the brand of the restaurant. In addition to the brand identity itself, I was instrumental in defining the friendly, light-hearted tone of voice that now forms a core part of the Honeybrew brand.

Working alongside a team of designers and brand strategists, I helped develop three different brands for the City of Campbell River. NexStream Tech Competition is the City's flagship initiative that encourages technological innovation and plays a crucial role in diversifying the local economy. The name is a compound of Next for innovation and Stream to represent Campbell River itself.
Taking inspiration from the City's historical ties with salmon hatcheries, TECHatchery is the umbrella term representing the City's economic development efforts to grow the technology sector.
naturally, Campbell River ties together all the City's economic development efforts as a whole. This name is a literal declaration of the City's goal to be a natural choice for business investments and a play on words to highlight the region's natural environment as a unique competitive advantage.
NexStream & naturally, Campbell River became winners of the EDAC Marketing Canada Awards (2020), attracting national media attention and investment in the region within the first year of launch.
